Do you only want to watch the concerts?
NO TICKET NEEDED if you just want to watch any of the three FREE Marimbafest public concerts: the Artist Concert (Friday), the Grand Concert (Saturday) and the Gala Concert (Sunday). You don't need to register - just come!
Do you only want to watch certain classes?
If you're only interested in seeing one or two classes, or are on a budget, then our SINGLE ENTRY PASS is for you! All Marimbafest workshops can be observed passively by any non-participants for just $30 per person per workshop. You don't need to register for this option. Simply buy the SINGLE ENTRY PASS at the door of the workshop you wish to go to!
Are you only interested in the Marimba Competition?
If you just want to participate in our Open Marimba Competition and not attend any classes, our affordable COMPETITION ONLY PASS is for you! This lets you participate fully in the Competition, where you will perform solo and potentially win some prizes. You will also receive feedback on your performance from our judging panel to help you with your development as a player. Register below to sign up for the COMPETITION ONLY PASS!
Do you want the full Marimbafest festival experience? (Recommended option)
If you want to get the most out of Marimbafest, we highly recommend our most comprehensive ticket option, the FESTIVAL PASS! The FESTIVAL PASS allows you to enjoy all of Marimbafest as a festival participant.
Learn new things about marimba performance and composition by actively participating in all intensive masterclasses and workshops. Showcase your skills and potentially win prizes by participating in the Open Marimba Competition. Rehearse intensively with faculty and perform in public concerts alongside your fellow participants in the Marimbafest Festival Ensemble. Find out more about your playing with a private lesson with the faculty of your choice. You can do all this and more with the FESTIVAL PASS.

Marimbafest 2022 continues on from our successful 2021 hybrid event, returning to the UWA Conservatorium of Music with a brand new solo marimba and ensemble competition in July 2022. Featuring faculty artists Dr Matthew Lau (Hong Kong), Kana Omori (Japan), Stephen Hall and Jaime Esposito from Spectrum Ensemble (USA), Robert Oetomo (NSW), Catherine Betts and Joshua Webster from Kaboom Percussion (WA), Brian Maloney (WA), Paul Tanner (WA) and directed by Adam Tan (WA), this is an event for percussionists of all levels who wish to showcase their performance skills and get valuable feedback in a friendly and positive competition environment.
Marimbafest 2022 week will consist of:
· Two CATEGORIES of competition: SOLO (1 player, solo marimba) and ENSEMBLE (2-10 players, chamber ensemble)
· Two CLASSES of competition: A CLASS (under the age of 18 on 3 July 2022) and OPEN CLASS (all ages)
· All participants receive valuable feedback and can potentially win prizes (we've given over $10,000 of prizes in the last two years!)
· Masterclasses for participants during the week from the faculty artists covering areas like technique, performance, composition, career and more
· Free exciting concerts all week featuring the participants, faculty artists and local artists
· Marimbafest Shop for all your percussion gear needs
· Opportunities to meet other percussionists from around the world with lunches provided + social opportunities

IN-PERSON Solo Participant
This ticket gives one (1) person the opportunity to compete as a solo participant in the Solo category of the competition in-person. If you are a resident of Western Australia, you must purchase IN-PERSON tickets only. If you wish to compete in the Ensemble category as well, please also register for and purchase an Ensemble Participant Pass (either IN-PERSON or ONLINE) separately.
