Do you only want to watch the concerts?
NO TICKET NEEDED if you just want to watch any of the three FREE Marimbafest public concerts: the Artist Concert (Friday), the Grand Concert (Saturday) and the Gala Concert (Sunday). You don't need to register - just come!
Do you only want to watch certain classes?
If you're only interested in seeing one or two classes, or are on a budget, then our SINGLE ENTRY PASS is for you! All Marimbafest workshops can be observed passively by any non-participants for just $30 per person per workshop. You don't need to register for this option. Simply buy the SINGLE ENTRY PASS at the door of the workshop you wish to go to!
Are you only interested in the Marimba Competition?
If you just want to participate in our Open Marimba Competition and not attend any classes, our affordable COMPETITION ONLY PASS is for you! This lets you participate fully in the Competition, where you will perform solo and potentially win some prizes. You will also receive feedback on your performance from our judging panel to help you with your development as a player. Register below to sign up for the COMPETITION ONLY PASS!
Do you want the full Marimbafest festival experience? (Recommended option)
If you want to get the most out of Marimbafest, we highly recommend our most comprehensive ticket option, the FESTIVAL PASS! The FESTIVAL PASS allows you to enjoy all of Marimbafest as a festival participant.
Learn new things about marimba performance and composition by actively participating in all intensive masterclasses and workshops. Showcase your skills and potentially win prizes by participating in the Open Marimba Competition. Rehearse intensively with faculty and perform in public concerts alongside your fellow participants in the Marimbafest Festival Ensemble. Find out more about your playing with a private lesson with the faculty of your choice. You can do all this and more with the FESTIVAL PASS.

MARIMBAFEST 2020 HAS NOW BEEN POSTPONED TO JULY 2021
Due to the COVID-19 situation happening globally, we regret to inform that Marimbafest 2020 (originally scheduled for July 2020) has now been cancelled.
We look forward to launching a new Marimbafest event in July 2021, and we welcome everyone to support us then.
All ticket holders have now been refunded. If you have any questions about this, please contact us.

ABOUT THE SCHOLARSHIPS
SCHOLARSHIPS HAVE BEEN SUSPENDED due to Marimbafest 2020 cancellation. Thank you for your applications.
Marimbafest 2020 is an event for everyone, and we pride ourselves on providing increased access opportunities for all.
WHAT ARE THE MARIMBAFEST 2020 SCHOLARSHIPS?
This year, thanks to the generous support of Marimbafest 2020 Faculty member Robert Oetomo,
two Australian students will have their Festival Pass expenses (valued at $500) fully covered.
These scholarships are designed for Australian students who require financial assistance,
and also display significant artistic potential and a willingness to learn.
WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY?
The Marimbafest 2020 Scholarship for WA Students
The following criteria must be valid as at 9 July 2020

The applicant must be a current student of a Western Australian primary, secondary or tertiary institution

They must be a resident of Western Australia

There is no age limit or restriction
The Marimbafest 2020 Scholarship for Interstate Students
The following criteria must be valid as at 9 July 2020

The applicant must be a current student of an Australian primary, secondary or tertiary institution in an Australian State or Territory OTHER than Western Australia

They must be a resident of any Australian State or Territory OTHER than Western Australia

There is no age limit or restriction
HOW DO I APPLY?
To apply:

A completed Marimbafest 2020 Scholarship Application Form (see the form below)

A video recording of yourself performing a complete work from the Competition Repertoire List of the appropriate class*. Please upload this video to YouTube as an 'unlisted' video and paste the link in the Application Form.
*A CLASS or OPEN CLASS repertoire for applicants under 18, OPEN CLASS repertoire only for applicants over 18. Repertoire must be performed in full - no partial recordings allowed
Please submit all applications by 15 April 2020. Late applications will not be accepted.
Applications will be assessed by Robert Oetomo and results will be announced on 20 April 2020.
